Singin’ in the Rain stands out as a legend in the history of film. Picked by the American Film Institute as the most beautiful musical ever, the sheer enchantment of Stanley Donen’s feature film remains unaffected by the passing of years. The story tells the tale of the transition from silent movies to talkies at the end of the 1920s. Kathy, played by Debbie Reynolds, replaces at short notice a famous actress with a disagreeably nasal voice, and a love story unfolds with her film partner, Gene Kelly.
Interspersed with fabulous tap-dancing numbers, Nacio Herb Brown’s music, particularly his famed eponymous song, shall be performed live by the Orchestre National de Lille with Ernst van Tiel at the helm.
