STRAVINSKY
Dumbarton Oaks Concerto
HAYDN
Symphony n°92, « Oxford »
Delyana Lazarova Conductor
Orchestre National de Lille
Stravinsky and Haydn make up the programme of this Flash Concert conducted by the young Bulgarian, Delyana Lazarova, winner of the 2020 Siemens Hallé International Conductors Competition in Manchester. First Stravinsky, whose light and spirited Dumbarton Oaks Concerto was written during the composer’s neo-classical period and was, he said, inspired by Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. Then Haydn, whose Symphony No.92 crowned thirty years in the employment of Prince Esterházy and established the definitive model of the classic symphony later developed by Mozart and Beethoven.
