The chamber music concert series by musicians from the ONL is back! Carl Stamitz, an 18^th century German composer, spearheaded the galant style, which is clearly illustrated in his very expressive and accessible Duet in C major for viola and cello. Such scope for emotional expression is also evident in Shostakovich’s gently melodious and melancholic Prelude for viola and cello. Conversely, Hindemith’s Scherzo pulsates with energy and joy.
In this shared version of Bach’s Suite for cello No.1, each instrument complements the other, as one delves into the intricacies of the work while the other lends a lighter touch. Lastly, Beethoven’s eyeglass duet is as captivating as it is virtuoso.
