Fantasy homage to Schubert

Dumbarton Oaks Concerto

Symphony No.92, Oxford

Delyana Lazarova Conductor
Orchestre National de Lille

Performances of the Dumbarton Oaks Concerto are too seldom, yet it figures amongst Stravinsky’s most exhilarating works. A happy inspiration from Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, the springing, impish music sets different instrumental groups against each other in the style of a baroque concerto. The Bulgarian composer, Dobrinka Tabakova, pays a wonderful tribute to Schubert in her Fantasy. Performed in venues worldwide, this piece will be interpreted by the conductor Delyana Lazarova, a finalist in the 2020 La Maestra competition. Composed during the composer’s stay in England, Haydn’s radiant Symphony No.92 is a marvel to crown a programme characterised by wit and originality.
