Come spend the festive season with us in Vienna this year! At the beginning of the 20th century, the Austrian capital was a whirlwind of fun and festivities. In Die Fledermaus, Strauss lets us hear the vast range of dances–waltzes, czardas, polkas, and more – from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Lehar and Kálmán represent the golden age of the Viennese operetta in works like The Merry Widow and Princess Czardas. Three exceptional musicians –conductor Stefan Blunier, soprano Annette Dasch, and baritone Daniel Schmutzhard – have concocted a programme to be savoured like delicious confectionary. Music that sparkles like champagne!
