All the short films in this live music cinema screening programme take a poetic and/or humours look at “being different”, from a novel angle. For each film there is a matching musical ambience: mini symphony orchestra, reggae for the poultry, electro jazz and Afro-Celtic xylophone, 1930s piano-bar atmosphere, and more. Matthieu Letournel’s refrains and brass-coloured melodies delicately highlight the emotion and action in the films. Amidst a range of surprising hanging objects, Pierre-Yves Prothais constantly navigates between rhythm, sound and animal imitation to create a playful ambience perfectly synchronised with the action in the film.
