To round off the programme, the renowned Japanese conductor, Kasuzhi Ono, invites us to an intensely expressive moment of introspection. Written in 1939, Shostakovich’s Symphony No.6 opens with an expansive Largo of Mahlerian majesty. Kazusi Ono, as a maestro of opera, promises to yield the unfathomable depths and astounding beauty of this programme.
